Review Policy

If you are an author/publisher and would like to have your book reviewed on The Book Dancer, please keep in mind the following:

I will accept books from both established publishers or self-published authors. However, if you are a self-published author, please state so within your email as I will be accepting these on a limited basis. 

Any requests to review a book will be done so in return of an honest review. This means that I cannot guarantee a good review. I rank books from 0-5 stars - five being the highest and most enjoyable. On occasion, I will give half-stars for books that don't completely fall under a certain number. However, if I feel that my review of your book will fall under a three star rating, I will contact you before posting my review. I want to help you promote your book. If you feel that my review will deter new readers, then let me know and we can discuss other options such as a giveaway, guest author post, cover reveal, etc. Please also note that my reviews will always be posted on Goodreads.

When asking for a review request, please keep in mind that I do work full time and may not be able to get to your review right away. Depending on the length of the book, it generally takes me a couple of days to a week to finish it then a day or so to write my review. If you have a particular timeframe in mind that you would like the review posted, please state the deadline in your email and I will let you know if this is possible. If for whatever reason, I am unable to review your book, I will let you know ahead of time.

Though I would prefer ARC or finished copies of books to review, I understand that this is not always possible therefore I will also accept eBooks. However, I generally read faster with a physical copy versus a digital one. Ebooks will be accepted in either .pdf or .epub format.

- YA/NA literature

- Fantasy/Adventure

- Dystopian

- Paranormal

- Romance

- Contemporary

- Sci-fi (limited - I'm not a huge sci-fi fan)

I will not accept:

- Non-fiction

- Religious

- Erotica
